Needs a doctor too

Alopecia Areata

Coin-shaped patches with smooth skin inside them, appearing over weeks rather than years. This is an immune condition, not a cosmetic one — so the first thing we do is make sure you are seen medically.

Tick what sounds like you. Nothing is stored, and it is not a diagnosis — it just makes the consult faster.

Often mistaken for

Traction alopecia

Loss along the hairline from tight styling. Different cause, different plan, and it can become permanent.

Tinea capitis

A fungal infection with scaling and broken stubble — needs antifungal treatment, not hair restoration.

Trichotillomania

Pulling produces irregular patches with hairs at mixed lengths. It needs support, not a laser.

Invented for this design: our standard pathway is a dermatology referral first, then supportive treatment alongside their plan — never instead of it.

Why it happens

The immune system mistaking a hair follicle for a threat

T-cells surround the follicle and interrupt its growth cycle. The follicle is not destroyed, which is why regrowth is common — sometimes spontaneously within a year — and why the condition can relapse in a different spot later.

Because it is immune-mediated, the medical treatments that matter are prescribed: intralesional steroids, topical immunotherapy, and in extensive cases newer systemic options. Our role is what sits alongside that — scalp health, circulation, and monitoring with photographs.

1

Dermatology first, for diagnosis and prescribed treatment.

2

Then supportive care here: scalp health, PRP where your dermatologist agrees it is appropriate.

3

Photographic monitoring at every visit so regrowth is measured, not guessed.

  • Rated 5 out of 5 stars

They ran bloodwork before selling me anything, which no other clinic did, and my ferritin turned out to be on the floor. PRP plus iron and my part is measurably narrower on their photographs, not just in my head.

  • Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have been losing hair for nine years and I am hard to impress. This is the first place that mapped which areas were worth treating and told me plainly which were not, then referred me on for the rest.

    Rochester Hills · hair loss

  • Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Shedding started at three months and I panicked. They checked my iron, told me what was normal, took a photograph of my hairline and asked me to come back in three months. No package, no pressure, and it did recover.

Questions

The things people ask us

If yours is not here, ask it at the consult — or email it and Nagwa answers within a business day.

Can PRP treat alopecia areata?

The evidence is mixed and it is not a substitute for medical treatment. We will consider it as support once you are under a dermatologist and the patch is stable — and we will say no if the timing is wrong.

Will my hair grow back?

Often, yes — many single patches regrow within a year, with or without treatment. Extensive or repeated episodes are less predictable, which is exactly why we photograph and measure rather than reassure.

Why do you insist on a referral?

Because the diagnosis needs confirming and the effective treatments are prescription-only. Selling you a cosmetic course for an autoimmune condition would waste your money and your time.

What does the free consultation actually include?

Twenty minutes with Nagwa: a proper look under clinic light and magnification, your history and any medications, same-light photographs for your file, and a written plan with prices and an order of operations. No deposit, and no obligation to book anything on the day.

Can I spread the cost?

Yes — courses can be split into monthly payments through Cherry, with plans starting around $45 a month depending on the total. We will show you the monthly figure next to the total before you decide anything.

We will get you to the right person first.

Come in, get looked at properly, and leave with a referral and a supportive plan — not a package for something that needs a prescription.
