Slow Hair Growth

Hair grows at about half an inch a month and that rate barely varies. When length plateaus, the problem is almost always at the ends — you are losing it as fast as you are making it.

Often mistaken for

Pattern thinning

If your part is widening too, length is the smaller problem and density is the real one.

Nutrient deficiency

Low ferritin or protein genuinely slows growth. Worth a panel before buying anything.

Traction damage

Tight styles break hair at the hairline specifically. That pattern is a styling change, not a treatment.

Invented for this design: we measure from a photographed reference point rather than by feel, because “it never grows” is almost always breakage in disguise.

Why it happens

Growth is fine; the ends are not surviving

Follicles produce hair at a fairly fixed rate that treatment can nudge but not transform. The visible length you keep depends on the cuticle surviving heat, colour, friction and tension for two or three years — and that is where most people lose the argument.

Scalp health and nutrition matter at the root, and both are checkable. But if strands snap when you comb them, no injection or supplement will out-run the damage; the routine has to change first.

1

Confirm the rate — photographed reference point, measured over three months.

2

Bloodwork if growth is genuinely slow rather than length being lost.

3

Then protection: heat, tension and chemical load, in that order.

  • Rated 5 out of 5 stars

They ran bloodwork before selling me anything, which no other clinic did, and my ferritin turned out to be on the floor. PRP plus iron and my part is measurably narrower on their photographs, not just in my head.

  • Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have been losing hair for nine years and I am hard to impress. This is the first place that mapped which areas were worth treating and told me plainly which were not, then referred me on for the rest.

  • Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Shedding started at three months and I panicked. They checked my iron, told me what was normal, took a photograph of my hairline and asked me to come back in three months. No package, no pressure, and it did recover.

Questions

The things people ask us

If yours is not here, ask it at the consult — or email it and Nagwa answers within a business day.

Can anything make hair grow faster?

Meaningfully faster, no. What is achievable is keeping more of what grows and improving the calibre so it looks fuller at the same length. Anything promising inches a month is selling you something.

Do supplements help?

If a panel shows you are low in iron, vitamin D or protein, correcting it genuinely helps. If your levels are normal, a supplement adds nothing — which is why we test before recommending.

Is PRP worth it just for growth?

Only if there is thinning alongside it. For breakage in otherwise dense hair, a styling and nutrition change costs far less and does more. We will say so.

What does the free consultation actually include?

Twenty minutes with Nagwa: a proper look under clinic light and magnification, your history and any medications, same-light photographs for your file, and a written plan with prices and an order of operations. No deposit, and no obligation to book anything on the day.

Can I spread the cost?

Yes — courses can be split into monthly payments through Cherry, with plans starting around $45 a month depending on the total. We will show you the monthly figure next to the total before you decide anything.

Let us find out whether it is growth or breakage.

A free consult, a measured reference photograph and, if it is warranted, a lab panel. If the answer is your flat iron, we will tell you that instead of selling you a course.
